LOW PRICES

Getting you the freedom you deserve at a price you can afford is our number one priority.

Dealer Fees
AMS  brand wheelchair vans were manufactured in an effort to help make wheelchair accessible transportation more affordable and reliable for everyone. We refuse to charge our customers the high dealer markup and service costs that most wheelchair van companies tack on to the price resulting in $10,000 or more of added expense per wheelchair van sold.

Rent a Wheelchair Van Before You Buy
Rent a wheelchair van to get away for an accessible vacation, provide medical transportation, or try out your new wheelchair van before buying. We are happy to put 50% of the costs of renting towards the purchase of your wheelchair van if you should decide to buy within 30 days. (maximum $2500 discount)

Save Money Buying Used Handicap Vans
By purchasing a low mileage, pre-owned wheelchair vehicle, you shouldn't lose thousands of dollars to depreciation when you drive off the lot in your accessible vehicle. Our indoor showroom houses a broad selection of newly converted used wheelchair vehicles, and customers often tell us that they couldn't tell the difference between the new and used vehicles if it wasn't for the slight difference in the odometer and extreme difference in price.

LONGEVITY

Nationwide Service Directory
AMS Vans works with a nationwide network of certified mechanics to perform warranty work on our wheelchair vans.  We handle the entire process including calling and setting up an appointment with a certified mechanic in your local area and paying via a credit card once the warranty service has been completed for you.

In fact, the AMS wheelchair ramp system was constructed in such a way that it is simple for anyone, including yourself if you are mechanically inclined, to work on the wheelchair conversion van ramp.  We will not void the warranty if you should decide to fix the wheelchair ramp yourself because we stand behind the quality of the AMS brand wheelchair van conversion and simplicity of design.

  1. Sell us your wheelchair van to AA Vans - we buy, fix up, and resell used wheelchair vans with used conversions for people seeking the most affordable option available.

  2. Trade in your wheelchair van at AA Vans towards a new handicap accessible vehicle purchase.

  3. Previous customers can sell an AMS wheelchair van for free on our nationwide mobility classified ads. That's a $100 value just for being part of our family.

  4. We can sell your used wheelchair van for a 10% consignment fee or an agreed upon set price through our nationwide network of online handicap van websites.

SAFETY

Crash Test Certified
Our participation with Federal Crash Testing enables us to strongly stand behind our wheelchair van conversions. You can count on superior vehicle conversions and service at affordable prices.

2 Button Remote System
AMS wheelchair vans have a two button system to power the ramp. The button to power the wheelchair ramp is attached securely to the accessible van key with a keychain. We do not combine the ramp button with the main remote entry system for the vehicle unless it is requested because:
  1. It costs hundreds of dollars to integrate into a single button unit with remote entry systems that can be expensive to fix or replace.

  2. Having two remotes allows the ramp's open/close feature to be stopped mid-use to avoid potential accidents, such as a car pulling into the space beside or behind you while the ramp is being deployed.
Rocker Panel
AMS leaves the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) rocker panel in the driver side door during the van conversion, and this was designed by the vehicle manufacturer to help protect occupants inside the handicap van in the event of a collision. Most wheelchair van manufacturers remove this in an effort to make the driver area wider for wheelchair van drivers.

B Pillar
The B Pillar is not cut on the driver's side during the van modification, so the manufacturer’s original B Pillar remains intact. This should help increase the stability of your accessible van should there ever be an accident.

HONESTY

Our motto is simple: Treat others as you want to be treated.

If we don’t have the right wheelchair van for your needs, we will be the first to let you know.  AMS manufactures wheelchair vans for the majority of people that buy wheelchair vans that don't need the high cost items that other wheelchair users may need in order to save you money.  If we are not a perfect fit for your business or family, we will send you to another wheelchair van dealer that is more suited to your needs.  Examples of who we are not a perfect fit include:
  1. Manual wheelchair users over 24" wide who wish to drive from the chair:
Although you can drive using a transfer seat with our side entry AMS wheelchair vans, we suggest that people who are over 24" wide in their chair and want to drive directly from their wheelchair not buy our mobility vans. Since the OEM manufacturers spend millions of dollars making sure their products are some of the safest on the road, AMS decided a long time ago it didn’t make sense to remove the OEM rocker panel or narrow the B Pillar. Most other wheelchair van manufacturers and mobility dealers narrow these essential safety devices to widen the driver area.

  2. Extra Large Wheelchairs over 30" wide or 58" tall:
Our rear entry vans are ADA certified, but extra large wheelchairs tend to not fit well if you are over 32" wide or 58" tall in the chair. The height can sometimes vary due to the interior of the actual handicap van, so call a mobility consultant to discuss your situation.

  3. Combined Weight of Chair and Person Exceeds 750 lb:
Our wheelchair ramp is one of the strongest in the mobility industry, but we do not recommend people over 750 lbs in their wheelchair use our ramps.

*Low Price Guarantee Disclaimer:

The AMS Vans, Inc. low-price guarantee applies to similar new and used vans of the same make, model, and year with comparable adaptive mobility equipment and are newly converted.
