No, the lowered floor minivan is designed for passengers of handicap vans and their families. Although AMS does have the ability to add a removable front driver’s seat upon request.

Does AMS provide a kneeling system?

No, Adaptive Mobility Systems formerly known as Handicaps Mobility has learned many lessons since their introduction into the Mobility Industry in 1979. In the past, they have repaired numerous kneeling systems from manufacturers of nearly every handicap van provider including Braun, IMS, and VMI. Customers repeatedly explained that they turned this feature off because of the need for repair, which meant they were taking frequent trips to local mobility van dealers. AMS knew that our customers did not need to endure this; therefore, they decided to eliminate this feature from the conversion.

However, this could be a necessity need for some. For example, wheelchair occupants who drive from a manual wheelchair might need the kneeling system. Some of our clients might not have the upper body strength necessary to push a manual wheelchair up the power ramp. If you are an independent wheelchair user or lack the necessary upper body strength, purchasing an AMS conversion might not be the best choice for your needs.

Does AMS cut out the driver’s side Rocker panel?

No, AMS does not cut out the driver’s side rocker panel. They believe it reduces the structural integrity of your vehicle. Their goal is to leave the handicap van as close to the original factory specifications as possible. Their primary goal is to keep you safe!

Can AMS add a power door to a Dodge Grand Caravan SE?

Although this is possible we recommend you purchase the SXT or Touring Edition models as these minivans come standard with dual power doors from Chrysler.
